Use the AI Copywriter variable to auto‑generate short, product‑aware WhatsApp copy for your top 50 best‑selling products. For all remaining products, a generic fallback copy is generated. The copy is inserted into your message body as a variable (e.g., {{content.variable}}).
Create a WhatsApp Marketing Template
Go to Template Creation Screen:
https://dashboard.bik.ai/template/create/whatsappEnter a Template Name (choose something identifiable, e.g., AI – Abandoned Cart – Benefits).
Proceed to the Body Text.
In the body editor, click Add variable → choose AI Copywriter variable.
You’ll see two options:
Generate Copies – Create AI copy for products.
Manage Copies – View/edit previously generated copies.
Use Generate Copies now to set up copy for this template.
Generate AI Copies
Click Generate Copies.
Select AI Copy Name * (this groups/saves your copies for reuse).
Click Next and choose an Event from the dropdown. A pre‑filled prompt appears (you can edit it).
Events: Abandoned a Cart, Product Viewed, Add to Cart, Back In Stock, Price Drop, Ordered, Purchased a product.
Example prompt:
“The customer added a product to their cart but didn’t complete the purchase. Generate a short, conversational message that encourages them to return and complete the order. This message will appear between a static intro and outro in a WhatsApp message. If product details are provided, use them to personalize the content. If not, create a generic message that works for any product. Avoid greetings and conclusions.”
Note: Keep prompts within the character guidance (e.g., 430/1000).
Pick a Theme (or use Custom Theme). Each theme loads a matching prompt you can keep or edit:
Product Benefits, Special Offer/Discount, Restock/Reorder, Upsell, Trending, Low Stock Alert, Limited Time Offer, Functional Use, Best Seller, Custom Theme.
Click Show sample to preview 3 sample copies.
6. If satisfied, click Generate all.
Status shows "In Progress”. Please wait a moment for the copy to generate. Please close and click on Manage Copies to check the progress.
How generation works?
AI creates copies for top 50 best‑selling products using product descriptions.
A generic copy is created for products outside the top 50.

Note:
Please do not remove the ‘Other Products’ section in the Excel. If a product isn’t a best seller and this section is removed, the template will break for that product.
In your message body, the AI text appears via {{content.variable}}.
Review & Manage Copies
Open Manage Copies → click View to see the list:
Columns: Product ID, Product Name, Product Description, Verified Copy,
{{content.variable}}preview, and the Generic Copy (final row for non‑top‑50 products).
Use in Template: Click Use in template to insert the variable into your message body.
For every event–theme combination, the message template includes:
Static opening text → “Psst, this might now be on discount.”
Dynamic middle content →
{{content.variable}}(AI-generated product copy for each product)Static closing text → “Worth taking another look!”
So the final message looks like this:

3. Bulk Update Copies: Click Update Copies.
Download the spreadsheet.
Make edits only in the Custom Copy column.
Save and Upload the edited file (
.xlsx/.xls, max 5 MB).The system updates content per your changes.
Your Excel sheet must include the following column headers:
Product ID
Product Name
Product Description
AI Copy
Custom Copy
Verified Copy
If any of these columns are missing, the upload will not work.
4. Quick Edits: Use the contextual ••• menu to adjust Preferences or Update copy for individual copies.
Finish & Save Template
Ensure your body text includes the variable (e.g.,
{{content.variable}}).Complete any remaining fields (header, footer, media, buttons) as needed.
Click Save to create the WhatsApp Marketing template.
Use the Template in a Journey
In the Journey step where you select a template, filter Category as Marketing and Sub‑category as AI Marketing to find your AI content template.
Event Match Required: If your selected event is Ordered, choose a template built for the Ordered event.
Best Practices
Keep it short: The AI copy is inserted between your static intro/outro; avoid greetings and sign‑offs in the prompt.
Personalize when possible: Provide clear product traits/benefits in descriptions for better output.
Theme first, then tweak: Start with a theme prompt, then refine for tone/offer.
Name logically: Use AI Copy Names that indicate event + theme (e.g., AC – Benefits – v1).
Limitations & Notes
Feature applies only to WhatsApp Marketing templates in Journeys. Not for CRM or Campaign .
Copies are generated for top 50 best‑selling products; others receive a single generic copy (shown in the final row).
Variable placeholder is
{{content.variable}}—ensure it remains intact in your body text.Spreadsheet edits must be in the Custom Copy column; other columns are system‑managed.
If {{content.variable}} is added in the body text for template, the max character count gets resets to 500 from 1024.
Important: Once your template is created and used in journeys, do not change the generated copies (bulk or individual). Changing copies later can impact live flows where this template is already used.
