Overview
You can now use AI directly within the WhatsApp template editor to improve your template content while creating or editing a template.
AI provides a set of one-click actions to help you refine your message, improve readability, adjust tone, and optimize templates for different use cases.
For utility templates, the Meta Safe Rewrite action helps rewrite your content to better align with Meta's utility template guidelines, reducing the likelihood of rejection due to promotional language.
Available AI Actions
The following AI actions are available from the template body editor:
Rephrase – Rewrite the content while preserving its meaning.
Shorten – Make the message more concise.
Expand – Add more detail while maintaining the original intent.
Add Emojis – Insert relevant emojis to make the message more engaging.
Change Tone – Rewrite the message in a different tone while keeping the same intent.
Meta Safe Rewrite – Rewrites the content to better align with Meta's utility template guidelines.
Custom Instructions – Provide your own instructions for how the AI should modify the message.
Using AI in the Template Editor
Enter your WhatsApp template content in the Body field.
Once the body contains at least 10 characters, AI actions become available.
Select the AI action you want to apply.
Review the generated content.
Accept the changes or continue editing the template manually.
Meta Safe Rewrite
The Meta Safe Rewrite option is specifically designed for Utility templates.
It rewrites the template to:
Remove promotional or marketing language.
Better align the message with Meta's utility template guidelines.
Reduce the likelihood of rejection due to content that appears promotional.
Important
Using Meta Safe Rewrite improves compliance with utility template guidelines, but does not guarantee that Meta will approve the template as a Utility template.
Meta's template categorization also considers factors such as:
Phone number quality
Previous messaging history
Customer engagement patterns
Meta's own review process
AI-Assisted Templates
If AI modifies 50% or more of the template body, the template is automatically marked as AI-assisted.
This tag is informational and does not affect template functionality.
Availability
AI actions are available only after the template body contains at least 10 characters.
The feature is currently available at no additional cost.
Pricing may change in the future. Any changes will be communicated in advance.
Notes
AI-generated suggestions can be edited before submitting the template.
If you manually add promotional content after using Meta Safe Rewrite, the likelihood of template rejection may increase.
For authentication templates, ensure the content follows Meta's authentication template requirements.

Why is my template marked as AI-assisted?
Templates are automatically tagged as AI-assisted when AI modifies 50% or more of the template body. This tag is informational and does not affect template approval or delivery.
Is there an additional cost to use AI assistance?
No. AI assistance is currently available at no additional cost. If pricing changes in the future, you will be informed in advance.
