Custom Fields for Customer Profiles

Overview

Custom fields allow you to tailor the information collected for each customer using various input types, such as:

  • Single Line – For single-line text entries.

  • Multi-line Input – For entering text over multiple lines.

  • Number – For entering numeric values only.

  • Date – For selecting dates from a calendar picker.

  • Checkbox – For boolean values (e.g., Yes/No).

  • Drop Down – For selecting one option from a predefined list.

  • Multi-Select Dropdown – For choosing multiple options from a list.

Step 1: Configuring Custom Fields

1. Navigate to Custom Fields in Settings:

  • Go to the Settings section.

  • Select Custom Fields.

2. Add a New Custom Field:

  • Select field type from the options.

  • Enter a Field Name that will appear on the customer profile.

3. Save Custom Field:

  • Once all fields are configured, click Save to apply your changes.

Step 2: Filling in Custom Fields on Customer Profile

  1. Open Customer Profile:

    • Navigate to the Customer Details screen for any customer.

  2. Enter Details in Custom Fields:

    • Locate the newly added custom fields.

    • Enter the required information:

      • Multi-line Input: Type the text directly in the field.

      • Checkbox: Check or uncheck as needed.

      • Date Picker: Click the field to open a calendar and select a date.

      • Multi-Select Dropdown: Click the dropdown and select one or more options from the list.

  3. Save Customer Profile:

    • After entering the details, click Save to store the information in the customer profile.

  • You can always edit custom field configurations in Settings > Custom Fields if your data collection needs change.

  • Custom fields will only appear on the customer profile if they have been configured in settings.


FAQs

1: Can I delete a custom field?

A: Yes, go to Settings > Custom Fields, locate the field, and click Delete.

2: Can I add validation for custom fields?

A: Currently, custom fields do not support advanced validation.

3: Will all custom fields appear for every customer?

A: Yes, any configured custom field is available on every customer's profile.
