Using Variables in Document Names for Journey Builder Templates
Updated over 3 weeks ago

Overview

We’ve added the ability to customize document names dynamically in the Journey Builder when selecting a document template!

This feature allows you to personalize the file name of PDF documents delivered to customers by using variables. The name entered here is the one displayed to the customer when they receive the document and is also visible in the Helpdesk.

For example: If you use the Customer Name variable, the file will be named with the customer’s name (e.g., JohnDoe) for a more personalized touch.

How It Works ?

  1. Setting the PDF Name:

    • While configuring the document template in the Journey Builder, you can specify a name for the PDF document.

    • The name you enter here will be displayed to the customer when the file is delivered.

  2. Using Variables:

    • You can insert variables into the document name for dynamic personalization.

    • Example: If you include the {{customer.name}} variable in the name field, the PDF will automatically be named with the customer’s name.

  3. Visibility in Helpdesk:

    • The same file name will be displayed in the Helpdesk, ensuring consistency for agents and customers.

Benefits

  1. Enhanced Personalization:

    • Dynamically name PDFs for a personalized customer experience.

  2. Consistency Across Channels:

    • The same document name is reflected in both the customer’s view and the Helpdesk, simplifying tracking and communication.

  3. Streamlined Workflows:

    • Eliminate manual renaming of documents by leveraging variables.
