We have released a new automation that ensures paused templates are handled seamlessly within Campaigns and Automations. This enhancement reduces manual intervention, minimizes delivery failures, and ensures consistent deliverability across all campaigns and automations.
Key Updates
Automatic Template Duplication and Flow Updates
When a template is paused, the system will:
Automatically duplicate the template.
Update flows to use the duplicated version.
Pause the related campaign until the new template is approved.
Once the duplicated template is approved, the campaign automatically resumes.
Automated OPT-OUT Handling
For paused templates, the system will:
Add QRB/CTA (based on Meta’s requirements, with priority given to QRB) for OPT OUT.
Submit the template for Meta approval.
Update both flows and campaigns once approval is received.
Email Notifications
You will receive an email notification whenever:
A template status changes.
The flow is successfully updated.
No Impact on Active Campaigns
Scheduled, in-progress, queued or retry campaigns are not interrupted.
They continue without disruption once the template is approved.
Duplication Rules
Templates that are already duplicated or that already include an opt-out button will not be duplicated again.
If a campaign already had opt-out enabled:
The system will skip duplication.
The broadcast will be aborted (since opt-out was not effective previously).
Category Changes and Rejections
If a template category changes, the campaign will be aborted.
If a template is rejected three times by Meta:
The system falls back to the older flow.
The campaign is aborted.
The system attempts three retries automatically before aborting.
Why This Matters
Reduces manual effort in monitoring and fixing template issues.
Ensures higher deliverability by automatically adapting to template status changes.
Provides reliability by keeping active campaigns unaffected during approval processes.
Availability
This feature is enabled by default for all clients. No onboarding or setup is required.
FAQs
1. Do I need to enable this feature manually?
No. This automation is enabled by default for all clients. No setup or onboarding is required.
2. What happens if my template gets paused?
When a template is paused, the system automatically duplicates it, updates flows to use the duplicated version, and pauses the related campaign until the duplicated template is approved. Once approved, the campaign resumes automatically.
3. Will my scheduled or in-progress campaigns be affected if a template is paused?
No. Scheduled, in-progress, or retry campaigns are not impacted and will continue as expected once the template is approved.
4. What happens if my template already has an opt-out button?
If the template already includes an opt-out button, it will not be duplicated again.
5. What if my campaign already had opt-out enabled?
In this case, duplication will be skipped, and the broadcast will be canceled.
6. How does the system handle template category changes?
If a template category changes, the campaign using that template will be aborted.
7. What happens if my template is rejected multiple times by Meta?
If a template is rejected three times, the system falls back to the older flow, aborts the campaign, and stops further updates. The system makes up to three automatic retry attempts with Meta before aborting.
8. Will I be notified if changes occur to my templates?
Yes. You will receive an email notification whenever a template’s status changes and the flow is successfully updated.
9. Is there any impact on retry campaigns?
No. Retry campaigns continue without interruption once the template is approved.
