Special Dates as Triggers:

A Special Date Trigger allows you to create automated marketing flows based on specific dates related to customer activity, such as the last order date or the anniversary of the first order.

These triggers help you send targeted communications to engage customers at key moments, driving retention and re-engagement.


Why is it Useful?

Special Date Triggers are useful for:

  • Winback Campaigns: Re-engaging customers who haven't made a purchase in a while.

  • Anniversary Campaigns: Celebrating milestones with customers to strengthen brand loyalty.

    • Set up Anniversary campaigns that can be triggered after X days of the first order. Say for 1 year Anniversary back campaign, this journey will trigger a whatsapp (or email if set up) to all customers whose first order placed was 365 days back.

  • Targeted Marketing: Sending personalised offers and messages based on customer behaviour and properties


Setting Up Journeys:

1. Create a new journey & Navigate to the Journey builder.

2. In the starting point block, choose Special date as the trigger.


​3. Choose the user property for which the flow will triggered as soon as the customer will enter that segment.

Properties includes Last Order Date, First Order Date and Customer’s total order value.

Important Note:

  1. A maximum of 5 such segments can be created per store.

  2. The journey will trigger only for customers who enter the segment after the journey goes LIVE.

  3. Timing of triggering that flow for a particular store is random in between 10am - 5pm.

1. Can I create multiple Special Date Triggers for the same store?

Yes, you can create up to 5 Special Date Triggers per store. This allows you to target different customer segments and behaviours effectively.

2. Will the journey trigger for customers who were already in the segment before it went live?

No, the journey will only trigger for customers who enter the defined segment after the journey goes live. This ensures that only new eligible customers are targeted.

3. How can I use customer properties to create targeted marketing campaigns?

You can use customer properties such as Last Order Date, First Order Date, and Total Order Value to create highly personalized marketing campaigns. For example, you can send anniversary discounts based on the first order date or winback offers based on the last order date.

4. Can I customize the content of messages sent via Special Date Triggers?

Yes, you can fully customize the content of messages sent via Special Date Triggers. This includes personalising the message with customer-specific information and choosing the communication channel (e.g., WhatsApp, email) based on your campaign needs.
