Migration of WABA or Number Deletion from FBM
Migration of WABA or Number Deletion from FBM
Updated over 2 months ago

Pre-requisites of migration of WABA account

Your account is more secure when you need a password and a six-pin digit code. This is why upon WhatsApp channel installation, the 2FA (two-factor authentication code) is automatically enabled for all WhatsApp channels. If you remove this extra layer of security, you won't be able to request or maintain your Official Business Account status.

Disabling 2FA is required for the phone numbers to be migrated in or out of BIK.

To disable 2FA, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Business settings → WhatsApp Manager→ Phone Numbers → Settings
    https://business.facebook.com/settings/whatsapp-business-accounts/

  2. Select Two-Step Verification in the left menu:

  3. Click on “turn off two-step verification”

  4. This will trigger a confirmation email sent to the admin of the account. Please click the link to confirm, and the PIN will be removed.

In case you do not have access to your channel, or you are still a customer of BIK, part of the standard flow and cannot perform any of these steps, please reach out to [email protected] so we can help with the removal of the pin.

How to delete your phone number from WhatsApp manager

You can delete your number from WhatsApp manager for the following cases:

  1. When you want to stop using WhatsApp Business API services and want to free up your number either for using WhatsApp Business account or WhatsApp Personal account

  2. When you want to move to a different WhatsApp Business API service provider, but don’t want to migrate your WhatsApp tier

To delete your phone number from WhatsApp manager, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Business settings → WhatsApp Manager→ Phone Numbers
    https://business.facebook.com/settings/whatsapp-business-accounts/

  2. Click on the delete icon —> Click on ‘Next’—> Select your reason

Now your number would be deleted from your WhatsApp Manager

Note - This can be done only in case of WABA sharing model with your WhatsApp Business API provider. If your WhatsApp Business API provider is on On-Behalf-Of model, then you can request the provider to delete the number and they can do the same on your behalf.
You can refer to the sample email template for the same here
