How to get started with SendGrid integration?

Starting with send grid is a two step process, first we need to verify your domain name and then generate an API key and link it with BIK.

Configuring sender address

This is the email address or the domain via which you are going to send the email campaigns from.

  1. Add sender(s) to your SendGrid account for sending campaigns or automated messages. In the 'Sender Management' section under the 'Settings' tab, click 'Create new sender.' Provide the required details as prompted below.

    • From Name: User-friendly name displayed to the recipient.

    • From Email Address: Email address visible to the user as the sender. A verification email will be sent here.

    • Reply To: The email address where replies will be directed.

    • Company Address, City, State, Zip Code, Country: Business address, complying with CAN-SPAM regulations.

    • Nickname: A label for quick identification (not visible to recipients). Ensure to check the inbox of the entered email address and click the verification link received.

  2. Verify your sender identity's email address by clicking on the received email.

  3. Optionally, if you plan to send more than 2,000 emails monthly, upgrade your plan. Follow the four steps outlined on your SendGrid dashboard for the upgrade process.

    • Adding a verified sender

    • Setting up 2FA

    • Domain verification

      1. Add Your Domain:

        • Enter your domain name (e.g., www.mystore.com).

        • Select your DNS host (e.g., GoDaddy).

      2. Optional - Set Up Link Branding:

        • Decide whether to brand links for this domain. Recommend choosing "No" for secure link redirections.

      3. SSL Click Tracking (Optional):

        • If opting for link branding, set up SSL click tracking: SSL Click Tracking Setup Guide.

        • Collaborate with technical and domain teams (GoDaddy, NameCheap, Hostinger) to configure DNS records.

      4. Verify Domain:

        • In the Twilio SendGrid App UI, click Verify.

        • After completing these steps, contact SendGrid support to enable SSL click tracking for your account.

    • Add your payment details

Generating an API key

  1. In the 'API Keys' section, generate three distinct API keys: one with full access, one with billing access, and another with restricted access.

For the API with restricted access, give the following permissions:

    • Alerts - Full access
