Conversation starters are pre-configured messages or prompts designed to engage users and initiate conversations. On Instagram, they can be used to pose engaging questions or share intriguing statements. When a new user visits the ‘Message’ box of a brand’s Instagram page to start a conversation, a set of pre-configured messages (conversation starters) can be displayed to them.


Configuration of Conversation Starters:

To configure conversation starters, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Journey settings and choose the Conversation Starter section.

  2. Choose the relevant Instagram account from the dropdown menu.

  3. Click on "Add menu item" to create a new conversation starter.

  4. Enter the menu name and select the journey option.

  5. Choose a pre-configured journey from the dropdown list.

  6. The journey selected in the conversation starter will get triggered when user clicks on that option.

  7. Use the "Add menu item" button to successfully add the conversation starter.

1. How many conversation starters can I set for an Instagram account?

You can configure up to four questions in conversation starters.

2. Can I configure conversation starters without journeys?

No, you cannot set conversation starters without journeys, as there is no automatic reply for conversation starters if journeys are not configured.
