Direct Message Trigger:
Journey starts when someone sends you a direct message or direct message on ads/posts in Instagram. These triggers can include:
Direct Message: Automatically responding to or initiating a conversation when a user sends a direct message to the account.
Direct Message on Posts: Sending a direct message to users who comment on or interact with specific posts.
Direct Message on Ads: Engaging users through direct messages based on their interactions with Instagram ads.
These triggers help businesses and marketers streamline communication, provide timely responses, and enhance user engagement.
Comment Trigger:
Comment triggers are automated responses(journey) activated when users comment on Instagram posts, Reels, or ads. By automating responses, marketers can ensure consistent engagement and efficient management of their social media presence.
Comment on Post: Automatically engaging with users who comment on regular posts.
Comment on Reel: Responding to users who leave comments on Instagram Reels.
Comment on Ads: Interacting with users who comment on Instagram ads.
Stories Trigger:
Story actions include automated responses(journey) triggered by user interactions with Instagram Stories. These can include:
Replies on Story: Automatically responding to users who reply to your Instagram Stories.
Mentioned in Story: Engaging with users who mention your account in their Stories.
Events Trigger:
Events triggers are automated responses(journey) activated by specific occurrences on Instagram. These include:
Closed a Chat Session: Automatically triggering actions when a chat session is closed, such as sending follow-up messages or logging the interaction.
Payment Link Update: Activating responses or notifications when a payment link is updated, ensuring users are informed of the change.
Available Setup Options for IG Triggers
Direct Messages:
Instagram Account: Select the Instagram account for which you want to set up this trigger.
Any or specific keywords: You can set up this direct message trigger for all the keywords or specific keywords. And can include exclusion keywords for any keywords.
Direct Message on Ads/Posts:
Any or Specific Ads/Posts: Set up this direct message trigger for all ads/posts or specific ads/posts. You can exclude ads for which you don’t want to trigger the flow.
Any or Specific Keywords: Set up this direct message trigger for all keywords or specific keywords. You can exclude keywords as well. The journey will trigger if a customer messages the specified keyword.
Comments:
Instagram Account: Select the Instagram account for which you want to set up this trigger.
Any or Specific Ads/Posts: Set up this comment trigger for all ads/posts/reels or specific ads/posts/reels. You can exclude ads for which you don’t want to trigger the flow.
Any or Specific Keywords: Set up this comment trigger for all keywords or specific keywords. You can add exclusion word if you select any keywords option as well. The journey will trigger if a customer comments with the specified keyword.
Add Comment Reply: Add any comment reply for comments on ads/posts/reels.
Ads Account: Select an Ad account for the comment on ads trigger from the dropdown.
Stories:
Replies on Story:
Instagram Account: Select the Instagram account for which you want to set up this trigger.
Any or Specific Keywords (or Exclusion): Set up this replies-on-story trigger for all keywords or specific keywords. You can exclude keywords as well. The journey will trigger if a customer messages the specified keyword.
Mentioned in Story:
Instagram Account: Select the Instagram account for which you want to set up this mentioned-in-story trigger.
Reaction: Optionally, you can include “React with heart emoji in response.”
Events:
Instagram Account: Select the Instagram account for which you want to set up this event trigger.
Events: Events will be preselected based on the selected trigger type.
How to Set Up Instagram Triggers:
Follow these steps to set up Instagram direct message triggers:
Access the Journey section in the BIK dashboard.
Click on "New Journey" in the Journey dashboard.
Use "Create from Scratch" to start a new journey for IG triggers.
Choose "Instagram" and give a name to the journey flow.
Click on "Start Building" to configure IG triggers.
Click on the "Start Point" block and use "Add Trigger" to add IG triggers.
Add necessary details such as keywords, Instagram accounts, posts, and Ads accounts for the selected triggers as per your needs.
Click on the "Create" button to successfully set up the triggers.
Add any additional blocks to this trigger as needed to complete the journey flow.
FAQs
1) Why is the message not shown in the Instagram account?
To enable the connected tools toggle under message control settings, go to Settings and navigate to Messages and Story Replies. Then, select Message Controls and enable the Allow Access to Messages toggle.
2) Can I add different triggers in a single journey flow?
No, you cannot add different triggers in a single journey flow. However, you can add the same type of trigger with different conditions multiple times within the flow.
3) Can I exclude certain keywords or ads from Instagram triggers in BIK?
Yes, you can exclude specific keywords or ads from Instagram triggers in BIK. When setting up a trigger, you can specify exclusion criteria to ensure the trigger only activates for the desired interactions.
4) Can I use Instagram triggers for multiple accounts in BIK?
Yes, you can set up Instagram triggers for multiple accounts in BIK. Simply select the desired Instagram account when configuring each trigger.
