Introduction
Brands usually have complimentary products, recommended products on their PDP to upsell/cross sell to customers
Brands would like to setup similar journeys on Whatsapp & other social platforms.
Objective of feature
Currently for flows like upsell/cross sell, clients need a google sheet right now to map product purchased and the recommended products.
People enable the recommended / cross sell products via the Shopify discovery app and make a flow to recommend those products.
This is an improvement over the existing excel based solution.

How to Install the App
Search for Shopify search & discovery on Shopify app store or click on this url.
Its a free App, upon adding App, you will find it under Apps section of your Shopify dashboard
How to use the App
Shopify search & discovery App has following functionalities
Complimentary/recommended products
Boost products basis keyword search
Automatically generated product recommendations
Prerequisites:
For product recommendations to display on your store, you need to use a theme that includes a complementary products section and product recommendations section, and then add that section to your product pages.
A recommended product displays on the product page only if the following criteria are met:
It isn't sold out.
It has a price higher than $0.00.
It isn't a gift card.
It is published to your Online Store sales channel.
It isn't currently in the visitor's cart.
Create Product recommendations
Steps:
In the Shopify Search & Discovery app, click Product recommendations, and then click Add recommendations.
Select a product that you want to customize product recommendations for.
Select up to 10 Complementary products.
Select up to 10 Related products to recommend. Set the product to display only the custom recommendations or to display both custom recommendations and automatically generated recommendations.
Click Save.
Edit product recommendations in bulk with metafields
Steps:
In the Search and Discovery app, select multiple products from the Recommendations page.
Click Bulk edit to open the Bulk Editor.
Choose product recommendations for each product and click Save.
How to use on BIK
Search the journey called “Cross sell via Shopify App” from journey library
Review the flow with content for messages & templates
Test the flow on required number if need be via test mode, please note to replace trigger to a message & remove the delay block to test the flow
Also please add specific product id in custom api block for testing

Limitations
Only first product of the recommended product can be used while template/checkout cart creation
