Exit Intent Trigger for Lead Generation Popups

Updated this week

This document explains how to use the Exit Intent trigger to display lead generation popups when users show signs of leaving your website. This feature helps improve conversion rates by engaging visitors at the point of exit.

What is Exit Intent?

Exit Intent is a behaviour-based trigger that detects when a user is about to leave your website or webpage. When this is detected, a configured popup is automatically shown to the visitor. This gives you one last opportunity to convert abandoning users into leads.

Exit Intent works differently on desktop and mobile devices, based on user interaction patterns such as mouse movement, tab switches, gestures, and scrolling.

Benefits of Using Exit Intent:

  • Reduce bounce rates by engaging users before they leave.

  • Recover abandoning visitors by offering incentives or capturing lead details.

  • Maximise the value of your website traffic without increasing ad spend.

  • Increase conversions from users who might otherwise leave without interacting.

How to Enable Exit Intent?

Exit Intent can be configured on the following lead generation widgets:

  • Marketing popup

  • Lead Generator

  • Direct Reward Popup

  • Spin the Wheel

  • Scratch the Card
