You can add email templates to your Journeys like Campaigns in BIK to streamline communication using Email templates.

Steps to add email templates to the flow:

Step 1: Open the Flow

  • Navigate to the flow where you want to add an email template.

  • Look for the "Send Email" block in the Channels tab. Depending on your flow, this could be WhatsApp or Email.

Step 2: Select a Template

  • Click on the "Send Email" block.

  • A modal named "Select a Template Message" will appear, displaying all active email templates.

  • If you don't have a template ready, click "Create New Template" to create a new one. This will take you to the email template creation page.

Step 3: Choose a Template

  • Hover over the template you wish to use.

  • Click "Select" to choose the template. This will open the Variable Mapper.

Step 4: Map Variables

  • In the Variable Mapper, you can assign specific values to your template's variables. Use the recommended list to map variables to your needs.

  • Please make sure the variables chosen must have some value stored in it.

  • After mapping the variables, click "Select Template" to continue.

Step 5: Add Email Details

  • You will be taken to the "Add Email Details" modal, where you can set the email's sender name, subject, pre-header, and reply-to email.

  • Fill in the required details and click "Save."

Step 6: Save the Block

  • Once the email details are set, click "Save" to confirm.

  • Finally, click "Save" again to save the flow.

The above steps apply to both WhatsApp and Email flows in BIK. If you're working with multiple flows, repeat the process for each "Send Email" block as needed.

1. What are variables, and how do I map them?

Variables are placeholders in your email template that can be replaced with specific values, like the recipient's name or a phone number which are added while creating template. To change variables:

  1. Click on "Select" in the "Send Email" block to open the Variable Mapper.

  2. Change the variables according to the recommended list to suit your needs.

  3. Click "Select Template" once you're done.

2. Can I use the same email template in different flows?

Yes, once you create an email template, you can use it across multiple flows in BIK. Simply follow the same steps to add the "Send Email" block and select the template.

3. How do I edit an existing email template?

Hover over the template you want to edit and click on edit button or you can got My templates page to edit the template

4. What happens to the email block if we have customer phone number but not email?

If you donโ€™t have customer email and customer triggers the flow, the flow will run skipping the email block. So make sure the customer email is asked by using ask email block first.
